Types of Braces

Stainless Steel Appliances

Stainless Steel These are traditional type braces (much smaller than in the past), silver in color, made from surgical stainless steel. Many patients choose colored elastic ties to customize their appearance. The colors can be changed at each adjustment visit.

Ceramic Appliances

Ceramic Appliances For those not interested in traditional stainless steel, we also offer ceramic braces. They are made from porcelain (ceramic), are clear in color and do not stain. There is an additional charge for choosing ceramic braces.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® These appliances consist of removable clear plastic aligners. They are custom made and designed for specific tooth movement. They are the ultimate in “Invisable” tooth movement.  There are a variety of malocclusions which can be treated with these appliances. Appointments are made every 6 weeks, with the patient changing the aligners every two to three weeks depending upon which appliance they have. The typical case finishes with ceramic braces for final detailing, but up to 90% of the tooth movement can be accomplished with the aligners. All permanent teeth must be present in order for the case to be accepted.
